The Exit Planning Institute reports 75% of business owners experience regret less than one year after selling their business. After studying why this is and working with dentists since 2018 on exit planning and execution, we know it all comes down to preparation, readiness, and emotional navigation.
From today until December 31st, 2026 we are offering a one-on-one three-month process called FIT FOR EXIT. This process will tackle personal readiness, business readiness, and business attractiveness as the three “legs of the stool” that create foundational strength when your exit strategy is executed.
Here’s what you get:
- We work together for 3 months, meeting either an hour per week or two hours every other week.
- Where needed, we loop in your advisory team (lawyer, accountant, financial planner)
- Month 1 = We prepare your personal readiness through our science backed frameworks so you don’t end up in the 75% that have regret a year after selling
- Month 2 = We prepare your business on an organizational front and ensure the business is actually prepared to be transferred
- Month 3 = We review your business attractiveness by providing you with a formalized comprehensive practice valuation
- This review includes internal factors of value that identify unique opportunities for immediate value improvements you can choose to make OR areas to highlight as “upside” when you sell your practice
- The process can be renewed on a monthly basis if it is decided that extending this would be helpful, but it is designed to be completed in the three month window
- You are free to work with the brokerage of your choosing upon completion of our process.
The process gives you clarity, a plan, organization of your business, and a practice valuation (valued at $6,500 + HST). Those who commit before year end also get one year of access to Succession Compass, the only tool in Canada that enables you to sell your own practice and pay yourself the commission (valued at $7,500 + HST).
If you’re ready to feel ready, reply to this email and we’ll set up a call to chat about it.
